Trekking Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival at Kota Kinabalu International Airport
- Depart from Bangkok to Kota Kinabalu.
- Overnight stay at a hotel in the city to prepare for tomorrow’s trek.
Accommodation: City Hotel in Kota Kinabalu
Meals: Hotel breakfast
Day 2: Kinabalu Park Headquarters – Panalaban Base Camp @ 3272m
- Early departure from the hotel to Kinabalu Park (approximately 2 hours drive, transportation provided).
- Pick up lunch boxes for the journey.
- Receive ID TAG after guide registration (wear ID TAG at all times during the trek).
- Start the climb to the summit of Mount Kinabalu.
- 4-5 hour trek to reach Panalaban Base Camp @ 3272m (overnight stay).
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
Accommodation: Panalaban Base Camp (shared dormitory and bathroom)
Day 3: Low’s Peak – Kinabalu Park Headquarters – Kota Kinabalu City
- Early wake-up call to ascend Mount Kinabalu to Low’s Peak @ 4095m.
- After reaching the summit and enjoying the sunrise, descend to Panalaban Base Camp for breakfast and check-out.
- Return to Kinabalu Park Headquarters.
- Enjoy a buffet lunch at Balsam restaurant (subject to change).
- 2-hour journey back to your hotel in Kota Kinabalu city.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch
Day 4: Return to Thailand
- Departure from Kota Kinabalu to Thailand.

Recommendations and Important Information for the Mount Kinabalu Trek:
- Malaysia is 1 hour ahead of Thailand.
- Malaysian Ringgit can be exchanged at Super Rich (booking required 1 day in advance).
- Not suitable for people with medical conditions affected by long walks and runs, such as asthma or heart disease (consult a doctor).
- Physical preparation is recommended 1-2 weeks prior, such as running for 30 minutes daily or other leg exercises.
- Due to the high altitude, the air is thin and oxygen levels are low, causing difficulty breathing (avoid running or walking too fast, maintain a steady pace).
- Expect temperatures between 0-14 degrees Celsius.
- Do not stray from the designated paths. Follow the guide, staff, and stay in a group. Do not walk alone.
- The path mainly consists of steep stairs, with alternating sections of dirt and rocks.
- Avoid alcohol consumption before the trek for safety reasons.
- Do not wear jeans during the trek. Wear comfortable, quick-drying clothing.
- Avoid overeating before or during the trek. Eat in moderation to prevent discomfort and side effects like bloating, indigestion, or stomach aches that can hinder your trek.
- Do not litter. Dispose of trash only in designated bins to maintain cleanliness.
- Do not shout, scream, or make loud noises while walking in the forest.
- Aim to pack a trekking bag weighing around 4-8 kilograms.
- Inform the staff or guide immediately if you feel unwell or experience any discomfort.
- Restrooms are available every 1 kilometer along the trail.
- Carry cash (Malaysian Ringgit) for convenience as credit cards are not accepted on the mountain.
Porter Service:
- If you require a porter to carry your belongings to the accommodation, pack a separate bag (waterproof recommended). Keep valuables with you to prevent loss or damage, such as cameras.
- Note: Porters may arrive at the accommodation later due to carrying luggage, so expect a waiting period for your belongings.
***If the items to be carried by the porter are less than or more than 10 KG, the price will be calculated according to the daily rate per KG, not exceeding 15 RM/KG***
Documents for Travel to Malaysia:
- Passport (valid for at least 6 months or 180 days from the date of travel).
- International Vaccine Certificate (obtainable through the Mor Prom app).
- “MySejahtera” app for entry into Malaysia.
